Fox 7 News Austin

The city of Austin's clean energy play received support from local business, environmental, faith-based, and low-income groups Wednesday at a press conference.

The groups formed a coalition comprised of more than 70 local businesses, 18 non-profit organizations, and over 200 individual supporters.

They say the plan is not only good for Austin business and the environment, but the average citizen as well.

At the press conference the coalition said the most important part of the plan is the focus on energy efficiency. Another part of the plan would have city officials look at the current program every two years to see if changes need to be made.
